Bush Evades Own Trade Ban

According to a new report, President Bush’s official campaign is selling clothing made in Burma – a country whose goods Bush banned for sale in the U.S. because of their awful human rights, narcotics and sex trafficking record. According to Newsday, “the merchandise sold on www.georgewbushstore.com includes a $49.95 fleece pullover, embroidered with the Bush-Cheney ’04 logo and bearing a label stating it was made in Burma, now Myanmar.

  1. GrrrARrrghh! I really, really hate duplicity. And the funny thing is that this could totally be incompetence–it could be that Bush says these things and the people staffing and stocking the store do not even think about the products that they are buying for it. So many do not put the two together. But Bush should be setting an example, and that means keeping an eye out for this kind of thing. Yet again, saying one thing and doing another shows how sloppy and well, uncaring a president we have. Sigh.
