Sad news from Discworld
According to a note from Terry Pratchett posted on BoingBoing, he has been diagnosed with a rare, early-onset form of Alzheimer’s disease. I hope it goes well for him and that some biochemist fans answer his call!

I’ve been thinking about Pratchett just recently. Ogg Theora, a video format recently in the (tech) news, is named after a Discworld character. I just named my new jesusphone Bingeley after a recurring joke in the series, too.
This will take a while to absorb. I’m going back and forth between shock at the news and amusement that he titled his post “An Embuggerance.”
That’s too bad… Alzeihmer’s can hit the best of us.
