Ok, this makes my pagan heart happy: my friend Raven has opened a new store in Madison, WI called Ravenworks. It features lots of pretty, pretty, shiny and happy one-of-a-kind, hand made things for everyday use, ritual, whatever. Also, books and music — including Legacy!.

According to a note from Terry Pratchett posted on BoingBoing, he has been diagnosed with a rare, early-onset form of Alzheimer’s disease. I hope it goes well for him and that some biochemist fans answer his call!

Looks like there’s been some progress in figuring out how to reverse the effects of autism, at least temporarily. According to a recent study, some children have shown improvement while they have a fever over 100 degrees:
