I just heard Lamar Alexander on CSPAN this morning talking about &#8220;Grandma&#8217;s Social Security&#8221;.  DOES HE NOT REALIZE THAT THE &#8220;Social Security Folks&#8221; ARE HIS PEERS??!  He&#8217;s no spring chicken talking to a group of his age mates for the most part. But then I checked out the number of millionares in Senate, the federal pension for Senators and it became clearer. Lamar Alexander and the Senate cannot relate to me, my mother  &#8211; or my Grandmother – we don’t run in the circles of millionaires, we don’t have federal pensions to complement social security, and we certainly never had 6 figure salaries.</p>
