I just heard Lamar Alexander on CSPAN this morning talking about “Grandma’s Social Security”. DOES HE NOT REALIZE THAT THE “Social Security Folks” ARE HIS PEERS??! He’s no spring chicken talking to a group of his age mates for the most part. But then I checked out the number of millionares in Senate, the federal pension for Senators and it became clearer. Lamar Alexander and the Senate cannot relate to me, my mother – or my Grandmother – we don’t run in the circles of millionaires, we don’t have federal pensions to complement social security, and we certainly never had 6 figure salaries.
