I am overjoyed that Hallmark is acknowledging a type
of relationship which is common in 50 states. There
was a time Hallmark told us to send the very best.
Glad to see you have taken a giant step forward. No
kidding. American Greeting Cards, your competitor,
should be following suit if they can see past Donald
Wildmon’s bigotry.

Yay for hijacking. I sent this one:

I am so very pleased that Hallmark is recognizing legal marriages that venture beyond the traditional. Your advertising, that Hallmark sends the �very best� is true now more than ever. This is a wonderful move, and very much appreciated.

Some friends are getting married soon, now that they’re allowed to do so. You will definitely be getting my business.

Because I don’t want to be spammed by the AFA at my regular email account, I created a new one for this purpose. Here was my letter, using their bigoted letter as a template:

Dear Chairman Hall:

I am very, very pleased that Hallmark is recognizing legal marriages that venture beyond the traditional. Your advertising, that Hallmark sends the “very best” is correct. This is a wonderful move, and very much appreciated. Until they catch up and begin marketing similar cards, American Greeting Cards, your competitor, will no longer be getting my business.
