following the north star...s?

A quickie from HubbleSite: astronomers have determined that Polaris (the North Star) is actually a triple-star system with two of the stars so close together that it takes the full power of Hubble to differentiate them.

Neat! Wouldn't this triple-star nature help explain the stability of Polaris's place in our night sky? Since they orbit each other, wouldn't they be less likely to go wandering off in one direction or another?
