Yes, I’ve been following this as the trial has started. It’s a very strange mindset, this sort of underground stuff. I suppose that these sorts of obsessions, I guess you could call them, develop in all manner of areas. Of course we all have our quirks, eccentricities, and perhaps scarier skeletons in our closets that never ever are let out in our lifetimes, and there are all sorts of individual acts within the realm of abnormal psychology that have been perpetrated throughout history. But now the Internet makes it possible for the individuals sharing a bizarre bent to form discussion groups or communicate otherwise, seemingly under the “radar” until something like this opens it up.

I’ve actually heard of this kind of thing – the ads, etc., but I was unaware people actually found willing victims. Very disturbing, but it will be interesting to see whether the jury takes the victim’s cooperation into consideration. Shudder.
